Knockout Phase Predictions:

Germany and Spain are the first two teams to secure their spots in the Round of 16. The question remains: which 14 teams will join them?

Group A: Switzerland is just a point away from advancing but must face Germany to secure it. Even if they fall short, they stand a strong chance of advancing as one of the four best third-place teams. Scotland can advance with a win over Hungary, though they face defensive challenges, especially with Kieran Tierney sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

Group B: Italy needs just a draw or win against Croatia to advance. Given Albania’s unlikely prospects against Spain, Italy’s advancement seems probable regardless of their final group match outcome. This group likely will see only two teams advance, but Italy must step up their game.

Group C: England, though not entirely convincing, only needs a draw against Slovenia to move on. The competition behind them is fierce, with Denmark and Serbia likely battling for their knockout phase lives. Expect England to draw Slovenia and Denmark to edge out Serbia, but England needs to improve their performance swiftly.

Group D: The Netherlands and France, with three points each, are favorites to advance. The remaining question is whether Poland or Austria can secure a third-place advancement.

Group E: Romania and Slovakia have started strong, but it would be surprising if Belgium doesn’t make a significant impact in this tournament. This group might see three teams advancing.

Group F: Turkey and Portugal look set to advance after strong performances in their first matches. The Czech Republic still has a chance to make an impact, but Turkey and Portugal are the clear favorites to move on.

As Euro 2024 progresses, the excitement and intensity continue to build. The group stage has already delivered memorable moments, and the upcoming matches promise even more drama as teams vie for a place in the knockout rounds. Stay tuned for more updates and expert analysis as the tournament unfolds.

Ballon d’Or 2024: Spain Coach Snubs Vinicius and Bellingham, Picks Euro 2024 Best Player as Favourite

The debate over who deserves the 2024 Ballon d’Or continues to divide fans and pundits. Initially, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior were the frontrunners, especially with their performances leading up to the European Championship and Copa America.

However, their outings in these tournaments have seemingly diminished their chances.

Spain’s manager, Luis de la Fuente, fresh off leading La Roja to victory in the European Championship, has weighed in on the matter. Following Spain’s 2-1 triumph over England in the final at Olympiastadion on Sunday, July 14, the 63-year-old coach revealed his pick for the prestigious award.

De la Fuente’s team, widely praised as the best at the tournament, secured their reputation with a well-deserved victory. Consequently, de la Fuente’s endorsement carries significant weight, further shaking up the Ballon d’Or race.

PSG Tables €200m Bid for Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia

French giants PSG have reportedly made a stunning €200m bid for Napoli stars Victor Osimhen and Khvicha  Kvaratskhelia.

Osimhen, whose summer transfer market release clause is €130m, could be sold for €100m as Napoli appears ready to offload the Nigerian international. The proposed deal splits as €110m for Osimhen and €90m for the Georgian winger.

Reports from Corriere dello Sport indicate that PSG and Saudi club Al Ahli are keen on signing Osimhen. However, the striker dreams of playing in the Premier League and is not considering a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Despite the offer, Napoli has maintained that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale, having previously rejected a €110m bid from PSG in June. The Serie A champions remain firm on their stance regarding the talented winger.

Meanwhile, Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea have shown interest in the 25-year-old Osimhen but have balked at the full €130m release fee. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis might accept a lower offer if it arrives soon, allowing the club to pursue Romelu Lukaku, their primary target.
